In this category you will find motifs with the primary seasonality of spring, which is both a long period (approximately three months) and varies in its start and duration throughout the world.

Spring is defined astronomically by the period between the vernal equinox and the Summer solstice. In the Northern hemisphere spring falls roughly between March 20th through June 21st and in the Southern hemisphere between September 21st through December 22nd.

The traditional Japanese lunisolar calendar defines spring as as the first through third months (originally roughly corresponding to February 5th through May 6th). The integration of the lunisolar calendar with the Gregorian calendar has caused the first three months to shift "backwards" to correspond with January through March.

When considering whether or not to wear a seasonal motif, please remember TPO, "time, place, occasion," as it applies both inside and outside Japan.
