My Japanese dance school put together a booklet in English on how to make a yukata and I've just finished making my second yukata using this book. The first time around, I had guidance from one of the teachers. This time around I did it independently and took notes on where I felt the book needed slight clarification based on things I remember talking about with my teacher and/or measurements taken from my hand-sewn yukata and kimono. I'm posting the

Notes: The book assumes you are using a Japanese tanmono so it doesn't have instructions for finishing any extra raw edges you'd get from cutting down a Western bolt. Also, the measurements are sized for a person between 5'0" and 5'3"; you'll have to make adjustments if you are taller.
