General Guidelines
- All relevant rules from the main Immortal Geisha Facebook and Forums rules apply. Namely those rules with regard to: - Descriptions should use reasonably precise terminology whenever possible. Examples: “Blue-grey silk hitoe iromuji with one crest”, “Women’s L size yukata with indigo asanoha design”, “Men’s 27cm paulownia geta with dark green hanao”
- Sizes should be listed whenever possible, along with a summary of condition.
- Items with a strong pet, smoke, perfume/incense, mothball, or musty smell should be noted.
- All images should have a caption with description and price.

ALLOWED Advertisements and Promotions
Please note, in all categories listed below, items and services MUST be either kimono, geisha or traditional Japanese arts or craft related. Shops must contain majority of traditional items and items must be SFW (Safe For Work). Anything containing mass produced “Made in China” or pseudo kimono items, or items not SFW will be deleted and repeat offenders removed from the group.

HANDMADE ACCESSORIES - handmade fashion accessories made of Japanese textiles or items suitable for pairing with traditional Japanese fashion
Examples:
Bags
Hats
Scarves
Obidome
Jewellery
Hair accessories including kanzashi
Handmade nail accessories such as false nails

GARMENTS OR ACCESSORIES MADE OF REPURPOSED OR RECYCLED JAPANESE TEXTILES
Handmade dresses or clothing
Based substantially on traditional garments (hakama skirts); or,
Made with textiles repurposed from wafuku or traditional bolts
Please note that this does not normally include “kimono inspired” cardigans/shrugs or nightgowns, unless you have obtained Admin authorization.
Handmade home decor made of traditional Japanese textiles

MEDIA PROMOTION - eBook, published books, film documentaries, etc

EVENTS - paid or free
Examples:
Festivals
Cultural activities
Food or Drink events where kimono wearing is encouraged (Sake tasting, etc)
Museum exhibits
Performances





NOT ALLOWED
Any store, item or services promoted that falls within the below categories will be deleted without warning. Repeat offenders will be removed from the group.

MULTI LEVEL MARKETING SCHEMES
For example: Jamberry, Arbonne, Amway, Avon, Scentsy, Pampered Chef

MASS PRODUCED NON-WAFUKU ITEMS
While the group focus is on handmade items, things such as mass produced kitsuke accessories are still permitted. What is not allowed is mass produced Japanese goods such as stationery, toys or household items.

PROHIBITED ITEMS
Posting of theses items will have a member removed from the group immediately and without warning.
Pornographic items and/or images
Racist items and/or images

PROHIBITED ITEMS BY COUNTRY
Please keep in mind there are certain items (namely, but not limited to animal products) that are prohibited to sell and ship internationally. For example, real tortoise shell, coral and ivory are prohibited items to ship to the USA. Additionally, countries like Australia have very strict biosecurity measures with regard to natural materials such as wood.

Therefore, sellers, please be mindful and list accurately what items are made of so customers can check their country’s import laws to determine whether they can or cannot import that item. Customers, it’s your responsibility to check your country’s import laws before purchasing an item to ensure you are able to ship it and will not incur fines.

Please do not promote your store or services more than once a day. This is to prevent spamming on the wall and to give all members a fair chance of exposure.

ONE IMAGE PER MAIN POST

Please only post one image in the main post. Other images can be added to the comments section of your post. This is to try to prevent random images with no context spamming the wall.

WORLDWIDE
Immortal Geisha Marketplace is a worldwide group. Please state clearly in your post destinations you will and will not ship to, along with being upfront with regard to postage costs.

If you are offering a class, workshop or service, please state clearly where they will be conducted and any costs upfront.

NO DISCUSSION POSTS
Please do not start any discussion posts. This group is purely for promotion only. All discussions need to be made in the main Immortal Geisha Facebook Group: Any discussion posts made will be deleted without warning.

NO BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS ON PAGE

NO DISHONEST BEHAVIOUR OR SCAMS
Please be honest with your dealings with each other. The Immortal Geisha owner and administration team are in no way responsible or liable for any transactions gone wrong.

Sellers are required to be truthful and honest about their items and to ship in a timely manner if you are store.

Customers are required to do their own due diligence before committing to a transaction and should consider using only services that offer a level of customer protection with regards to payment. Customers are also required to pay in a timely manner.

While the Immortal Geisha owner and administration team are in no way responsible or liable for any transactions gone wrong, we do want to hear when a transaction has gone awry. Repeat bad customers and scammers will be permanently removed from both the IG Marketplace and also the main IG Facebook Group.

SELLERS: If you have a customer who is repeatedly promising payment, but then not paying, please let us know.

CUSTOMERS: If you have processed a transaction with a seller, but it has turned out to be a scam, or the item was falsely advertised, please let us know. Providing us with evidence helps.

NO TURF WARS OR DISPUTES
Immortal Geisha Owner and Administration team will not mediate disputes between store owners or between sellers and customers.

Any store or convention turf wars started will be immediately deleted and the seller removed from the group.

Any disputes between sellers and customers should be resolved between the two of you, and use any third party services available through your payment gateway (Paypal, Credit Card Companies, etc).
