What's enough fabric for a chu-furisode?

Hey there, folks! I'm looking to make a furisode, specifically a chu-furisode. I'm not particularly tall at at five feet, which is around 150-153 cm give or take.

I've found a couple of kimono bolts already I'm interested in using, but I'm not quite sure what's enough. There's one at 14 meters, which I'm guessing could make a full sized furisode if I really wanted to, but there's one I found that's around 13 meters - I like the color of the 13 m one better, but is that enough?

Thanks!

Let's say you want a kimono of 150cm tall.

You would need :
Body: 152x2x2=608cm (seams included)
Front pannels: 132x2=264cm (This also includes the collar)

608+264=872cm, which would leave you 428cm for sleeves=105cm long sleeves.

So I think for your measurements it would be possible with the bolt of 13m. You could make the leeves even a bit longer if you don't mind a shorter kimono.
So bottom line, I think you should go for the 13m bolt if you like it better :)

Hope this helps :) Good luck! :katana:

Wow! I can make a full on furisode with my 13 m bolt! Thanks, that was sooooo much help! Being from the backwards country of the US of A where we're still stuck in the Imperial measurement, I really didn't have a good grasp of how much was necessary.
